Blåvandshuk, the western most point of Denmark, is a unique experience worth exploring. In the small town of Oksbøl is Ål church, famous for its murals, in particular the knight frieze from the 13th century. A trip through the largest heath in Denmark, Kallesmærks Hede, to the famous Vejers beach is also recommended. The protected peninsula Skallingen is also a popular tourist attraction. If you want to visit a bigger town, Esbjerg is a good destination with a lot of interesting museums and the longest pedestrian zone in Jutland. You can explore the towns past in the By- og Egnsmuseet or Fiskeri- og Søfartsmuseet which show the old street and town environment and also hold an amber museum. If you are interested in fishing, the Fiskeri- og Søfartsmuseet has a fine collection of fishing tools, ships and vessels.
