The house is from 1871, one period of prosperity in Soenderho and in maritime history where new styles also appears in Sønderho building culture. The house was born with the characteristic vælske caps have been removed sometime in the 30s, but restored in 2005. It has for many years been the official residence of the customs inspector, hence the name.
1st floor was renovated in 2013 with due regard to the the spirit.
